Snapchat adds website links to vanishing pics and vids in bid to trump Instagram

The photo app now lets you add links to websites in Snapchat pics.
Selfie-obsessed social media addicts have been begging Instagram for this feature for years but its social media rival has pipped them to the post.
While it's great that you can link to the restaurant you're sitting in or to a particular venue where you're hanging out, it also means social media celebs can self promote themselves with a cheeky link to their Facebook or Twitter accounts.
The Jenner clan - along with your favourite Towie and Made in Chelsea characters - will now be able to link to all the free goodies they're waving around on social media.
Which means you're going to see a lot more links to teeth whitening, slimming tea and bikini brands (nod to Louise Thompson).
Adding a URL is simple: just take a picture and select the paperclip icon on the right-hand side of the app.
Irritating as it might seem, the new update is certainly less controversial than its latest feature roll out.
The messenger's Snap Map has been slammed by parents and schools who fear it could be used to abduct children.
It shows exactly where users are and whether they are alone or with people on a cartoonish Google-style map.
British cops have advised people to review their settings to opt out over mugging fears.
Users are able to pick whether they want to make their location visible to all of their friends, a select few, or nobody at all (a setting known as “ghost mode”).
If they choose to be visible, they’ll appear as an ‘Actionmoji’ on their friends’ maps.
This avatar changes as Snapchat monitors the speed of users’ movements, for example by updating to reflect the fact they’re travelling in a car.
Loose Women’s Nadia Sawalha recently blasted the “creepy feature”.
And these love rats have all been caught out by the Snapchat update.
Snapchat's latest update also brings with it colourful backgrounds and a voice alteration setting so you can choose to morph yourself into a variety of weird characters.
