iPhone 8 price could be £1,000 – so will the gadget’s features and specs make it worth the money?

THE iPhone 8 is expected to be a mega-powerful smartphone with a whopping price to match.

An Apple watcher has claimed the gadget will cost up to $1,200, meaning that it could be slapped with a price tag of about £1,000 in the UK.

John Gruber, founder of the Mac-focused blog Daring Fireball, thinks the price will be high due to the sophistication of the device, which is expected to feature an advanced OLED screen.

He suggested the iPhone 8 will be regarded as a "Pro" version of the gadget.

Apple has already released two versions of the iPad - a basic model and the super powerful iPad Pro - as well as a Macbook Pro that's a pricier version of its laptop computer.
