Apple reveals iPhone X Face ID security feature that is VERY good news for anxious parents
THE iPhone X will feature a security function which will reassure parents worried its new facial recognition system.
Apple introduced Face ID at a launch event last week, showing how it let users unlock the iPhone X by scanning their face rather than typing a password.
This new feature uses facial recognition system which only works once you've scanned in a very detailed image of your lovely mug into your iPhone X.
At the launch event, Apple's Craig Federighi immediately squashed Big Brother fears by reassuring customers that these super-selfies would not be stored on one of its secret servers, but on the device itself.
“We do not gather customer data when you enroll in Face ID, it stays on your device, we do not send it to the cloud for training data,"
Now Apple has revealed further details of the safety systems built into Face ID.
It has updated the rules which govern how app developers use the Face ID feature and banned them from allowing anyone aged under 13 to use it.
This could stop kids from making in-app purchases - a feature which would have stopped one kid from running up a £6,000 bill playing games on his parents' iPad.
Apple will also only let one person use the Face ID feature on each phone, meaning only parents can unlock the device.
This will stop kids from getting into the iPhone and using it to look at dodgy stuff behind their parents' back.
The tech giant said there was a one in a million chance of the wrong person unlocking another person's device with their face.

The iPhone X is also capable of adapting to your changing face, so that if you gain weight or grow a beard it will still work properly,
The facial recognition sensors on the flagship handset will be able to animate emojis users can send in a message.
The X, the Roman numeral for ten, will be available to buy on November 3 starting at a cost of about £999.
