RED DEAD Redemption 2 has opened to become of the biggest games of 2018 – eight years after the original first cemented its place as a household name.
The Rockstar developed Western is the third entry in the Red Dead series and has already been branded as one of the greatest games ever made.

Is it coming to PC?
Probably. The original didn't, much to PC gamers' chagrin, but Rockstar have released all their games since on PC.
Sometimes these have been after a considerable delay -- GTA V took 18 months to make it to PCs after its initial console release.
RDR 2 PC should be here slightly sooner, with indications work is already underway.
According to , the companion app, released alongside the console versions, contains code pointing to it already being ready for a PC version, for instance.

When was Red Dead Redemption 2 released for consoles?
The original launch window for Red Dead Redemption 2 was the run-up to Christmas 2017.
Rockstar then pushed the game's release back to Spring 2018 with no specific date revealed.
It was then pushed back even further, to the official release date of October 26, 2018.
The developers said: "We apologise to everyone disappointed by this delay.
";While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish."

Are there trailers and gameplay videos for Red Dead Redemption 2?
The first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 was released shortly after the game was announced back in 2016. It didn't reveal too much about the game other than its setting.
The second trailer was released on September 28, 2017.
This trailer introduced us to the game's protagonist, Arthur Morgan, and the Van der Linde gang, as they rob and fight their way across the rugged Wild West of America.
Other trailers and videos since then have revealed more about the world and its inhabitants.
What's the latest on Red Dead Redemption 2?
- There is a new outlaw in town by the name of Arthur Morgan.
- He is a member of the Van Der Linde gang, as is John Marston, protagonist of Red Red Redemption.
- The game is set in 1899, just over a decade before the previous game.
- You will only see the story from one character's point of view.
- The game will feature a multiplayer component, but that won't be ready for launch - expect a beta before the end of the year, though.
- The world is even more varied than Red Dead Redemption, with everything from deserts to swamps, forests and mountains.
- Combat is similar to Red Dead Redemption, featuring the Dead Eye sharpshooting system that lets you effectively freeze time and pick out targets.

What areas are there in Red Dead Redemption 2?
The map stretches "from the forests of West Elizabeth to the mountains of Ambarino to the plains of New Hanover to the swamps of Lemoyne," according to Rockstar.
Environments showcased already show off what looks like swampland around a town inspired by an early New Orleans, a logging town surrounded by dense forest, a coal mining town, snowy mountains that capture the essence of America's Rockies, and more.
The map is the largest playing area they've ever created for a game despite only being traversable on foot or on horseback - no GTA helicopters or supercars here.
