Check out this £108 ‘iPhone X’ that’s named after a Samsung phone

WHY pay £999 for an iPhone X when you can shell out £108 for a copy instead?

That seems to be thinking behind the latest Android clone of Apple's pricey flagship.

But, the new device (dubbed the Leagoo S9) goes one step further than other shameless rip-offs, copying both the iPhone X's design and features.

You'll notice that it touts a notch similar to the one found on Apple's high-end handset.

And just like on the iPhone X, that little panel at the top of the display unlocks the phone with your face.

It also scrubs up pretty well elsewhere, boasting a 5.85-inch display, 4GB RAM, and 32GB of storage, as well as dual 13-megapixel cameras.

Notably, there is a more prominent border at the bottom of the Leagoo S9 than on the iPhone X, which is virtually all-screen.

And, the bargain device ditches the flashier OLED screen found on Apple's flagship for a regular LCD display.

You also likely won't get a processor that's anywhere near as powerful as the iPhone X's A11 Bionic chipset – but you can't expect all the bells and whistles at this price.

The phone was spotted on the floor at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, alongside Samsung's latest flagship; the Galaxy S9 (which also touts facial recognition).

But you can't knock manufacturers for borrowing design cues from Apple. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

And, some are taking the iPhone X's edge-less look and piling innovative features on top. Take Vivo for instance: the Chinese firm recently showed off a device with a bezel-free screen (with a fingerprint sensor baked in) and a pop-up selfie camera.
