Sky and Netflix just teamed up to create the ULTIMATE TV package

The new TV package will let you pay for both services with a single payment plan

SKY has teamed up with Netflix to offer a brand new subscription pack that bundles in the streaming service.

It means that you'll be able to pay for both Sky and Netflix in one single package.

It won't affect existing packages already owned by Sky customers – instead, Sky will launch a brand new package featuring Netflix.

It's the first time you'll have been able to access Netflix on Sky to date.

Existing and new customers will be able to sign up to the new service, if they choose.

If you do sign up, you'll see Netflix content integrated into your usual interface, so Netflix shows will be promoted alongside Sky's own content.

Sky boss Jeremy Darroch said: "By placing Sky and Netflix content side-by-side, along with programmes from the likes of HBO, Showtime, Fox and Disney, we are making the entertainment experience even easier and simpler for our customers."

It also means you'll be able to track down your favourite Netflix programmes using Sky Q's search and voice functionality.

It's not clear how much the new bundle will cost, but Sky says existing Netflix customers will "be able to easily migrate" their accounts to the new Sky TV bundle.

It also means anyone with Now TV will also be able to get Netflix soon – finally.

In a statement, Netflix chief Reed Hastings said he was "delighted to partner with Sky", and described the corporate buddy-up as an "innovative new partnership".

"Sky's customers will be able to seamlessly access and enjoy all the best entertainment in one place," Hastings added.

But although it might seem like a boon to customers, some say this is just a case of Sky playing "catch-up".

In a statement sent to The Sun, uSwitch TV expert Dani Warner said that Sky was bringing its flagship set-top box "in line with other major providers, who already offer the streaming service as an app through their TV boxes".

Warner also warned that customers who haven't upgraded to the Sky Q box yet "will not be able to access this content" – that means Sky+ HD box owners will miss out.

There's no firm release date, but Sky says the new Netflix package will launch "in the coming year" for Sky Q customers.

We asked Sky for more details about release date and pricing, but the company declined to give up any info.
