What is Fortnite Battle Royale?

Fortnite Battle Royale is a hugely popular game that sees up to 100 players dropped on to a fictional island.

Gamers are then forced to fight for survival in a last-person-standing death-match.

It’s already available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows and Mac computers, and last week Epic Games announced it would be coming to mobile too.

Now the game is available to iOS users – which means anyone who owns an iPhone will be able to play it.

Originally, users had to sign up to get an invite for a Fortnite Battle Royale mobile invite.

But in early April, Epic Games ditched that scheme and opened the process up to everyone.

What Apple devices support Fortnite Battle Royale?

To play on iOS, you'll need any of the following devices updated to iOS 11...

  • iPhone 6S or later
  • iPhone SE
  • iPad Mini 4
  • iPad Pro or later
  • iPad Air 2
  • iPad 2017 or later

The other good news about Fortnite on mobile is that it supports cross-play, so you can play with your console or PC friends using your phone.

Fortnite on Android – how can you get it?

Sadly, Epic Games has yet to launch Fortnite on Android.

It’s definitely in the works, but the game is currently being tested on iPhone first.

It’s generally harder to build games for Android because there are so many different smartphones that use Google’s Android software. That means you have to make your game work on loads of different devices.

Fortunately, Epic Games says that Fortnite will arrive on Android in the coming months, so stay tuned.

Why is the game so important?

compared the release of Fortnite with Pokemon GO, saying Fortnite is set to be even more important.
The key is that its mobile version is not changing at all from its PC, Mac and console versions.
No other game has attempted this.
