MARK Zuckerberg is a genius billionaire programmer with a flair for social awkwardness – is it because he's secretly a lizard?
That's the zany conspiracy theory that's been circulating on the internet for years, and may explain how the cash-flush tech titan achieved digital domination so quickly.
Lizard people have been a sci-fi trope for decades.
We've seen "reptilian" species in Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek and Marvel Comics – and some people believe they're real.
Famous conspiracy theorist David Icke led the charge with several books that mooted the idea of a reptilian hybrids.
These are a half-lizard half-human race that functions as an all-powerful ruling class on Earth.
The idea is that world leaders and business icons are secretly lizards, and take on a human form to deceive the public.
It's led to a spate of high-profile people being accused of secret lizard-hood.
And that includes Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg – currently under fire over a major Facebook data breach.
Back in 2016, Zuckerberg was forced to deny publicly that was hiding a lizard form.
During a live-streamed Q&A on Facebook, Zuck was asked: "Are the allegations true that you're secretly a lizard?"
Zuckerberg promptly responded: "I'm gonna have to go with 'no' on that."
He added: "I am not a lizard."
But, of course, a lizard would say that.
Tellingly, at the end of the video, you can just catch Zuckerberg licking his lips – a hallmark of lizard-people everywhere.
Zuckerberg then called it a "very silly" question, and moved swiftly on.
But despite Zuckerberg's denial, believers in the reptilian conspiracy theories remain.
One Facebook group dedicated to the theory has 93,000 members, while another has 65,000.
