Downtown Abbey star sees fortune rocket to £4.8million thanks to new Harry Potter mobile game
DOWNTON Abbey’s Dame Maggie Smith has earned £1million from starring in the first Harry Potter mobile game.
The 83-year-old — Professor Minerva McGonagall in the hit films — saw her fortune rocket to almost £4.8million.
A source said: “It’s staggering to still earn so much money.”
The Oscar winner is the main voice-over in the game launched this week.
Players of the game become students at Hogwarts and get to 'attend' lessons learning wizarding skills.
The game will not feature Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson or Rupert Grint as the game is set seven years before their characters arrive at Hogwarts.
Other stars in the game include Michael Gambon, as headmaster Dumbledore, and Warwick Davis, as Professor Flitwick.
Sangita Agrawal, who developed the game with Warner Bros, said: "We wanted to make sure every detail we have is true and authentic to the wizarding world."
