Police confirmed their deaths, saying that the trio were swimming in British Columbia when they "slipped and fell into a pool 30m below".

All three were in their late 20s and early 30s, according to .

"There are truly no words that can be said to ease the pain and the devastation that we are all going through right now," the group said in a message on their YouTube channel.

"They were three of the warmest, kindest, most driven and outgoing people you could ever meet, and the world has lost a great deal of light from the passing of our friends."

The accident happened when Scraper slipped and fell, with Gamble and Lykah also getting swept away as they tried to save her.

A search and rescue mission followed and lasted over two days, hampered by heavy water flow and an extremely difficult terrain.

Emergency crews made an aerial drop into the steep mountainside area with rope access to recover the bodies.

Other members of the group, which has 1.1million followers on Instagram, have launched a GoFundMe memorial fund to raise $100,000 to help with funeral arrangements and a memorial.

"In support of all their loved ones, we have created a for any arrangements that they may need help with," states the message on the GoFundMe page.

"We would like to invite anyone that would like to help by donation to the care and expenses that come at an impossibly difficult time like this."

The fund has raised $1,210 at the time of writing.

Their High on Life pals are also encouraging fans to share their own messages of how the members inspired their own travel adventures.

"The family would love to hear anything or everything on how High On Life may have inspired you," they added.

"A story, a picture, a song, a video – use the Hashtag #HOLinspired so we can collect all of your love and thoughts in one place. Even if you cannot provide a donation please post on whatever platform you frequent."

“The world has lost a great human being with the passing of Ryker Gamble. Your bright personality will be greatly missed,” one person wrote on Facebook.

“May you have many adventures where you are now,” another wrote.

Ryker's girlfriend Alissa Hansen also shared a heartfelt tribute to the YouTube star on her Instagram.

Along with a photo of the two together, she added a poem about grief and loss.

"What was once possible seems irrelevant. The schedule is cleared, the mundane ignored. One moment a wave of catastrophic emotions, the next a cavern of emptiness," read the heartbreaking post.

Vancouver-based Gamble and Lykah, along with a third surviving friend Parker Heuser, were the core members of High on Life.

They formed the collective after travelling the world in 2012, describing the blog on its Facebook page as "the attitude to embrace all of life's opportunities with a positive outlook and energy."

Their videos, the most popular of which has 4.6million views on YouTube, were often filmed in exotic locations around the globe.

Last year, Gamble, Lyakh and another group member, Justis Price Brown, were banned from US federal land for five years after pleading guilty to walking on a sensitive hot spring in Yellowstone National Park and other crimes at national parks across the west of America.
