Google Maps on iPhone now tells you how likely YOU are to enjoy a restaurant
Google's location-tracking app is fast turning into a recommendations engine
GOOGLE MAPS' latest iPhone update sees it playing foodie matchmaker to pair you up with your new fave restaurant.
The new match feature shows you how likely you are to enjoy a food or drink spot with a simple tap – taking out the hassle of figuring out where to eat.
Just update the iPhone app and you'll automatically see the option as a "match" percentage on restaurants you select on Google Maps.
Recommendations harness your food and drink preferences (which are stored along with all the other data Google has on you), places you've been to, and places you've rated.
The tips will also get smarter the more you use the app.
To borrow Google's words: "Our new ‘match’ feature will help you find your one true love. And by love, we mean your next favorite cheeseburger. Tap on a food or drink spot to see how likely you are to enjoy it based on your unique preferences – so you can spend more time eating and less time searching for places to go.”
The update is now live on iPhone but isn't entirely new.
Google first announced it at its I/O event in May before rolling it out on Android the following month.
That's also where it showed off its new 3D visual directions for Google Maps that use augmented reality graphics to guide you around town.

Food lovers will also enjoy Google's restaurant wait times feature for its GPS app that shows how long you can expect to queue at "over a million" dining spots at any given time.
