DECEMBER is going to be another bumper month for Xbox Game Pass members, with nine more titles being added to the subscription service.

From today you can download Mortal Kombat X -- perhaps a nod to the just-announced Mortal Kombat 11 -- with the rest all coming before Christmas.

Ashen, an open-world co-op RPG is also out today, while Kingdom Two Crowns follows on December 11.

December 13 brings Pro Evolution Soccer 19 for free to Game Pass holders, along with extreme driving sim Spintires: Mudrunner.

The much-hyped roguelike Below, first announced in 2013, will be released on December 14 and be available for free on Game Pass at the same time.

Ninja Theory's Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice pits you as a "broken Celtic warrior" on a vision quest into hell -- and is available for free on December 17.

Finally, on December 20 there's the melee FPS mentaness of Shadow Warrior 2, and the much more sedate and serene side-scrolling platformer Ori and the Blind Forest.

Thanks to Microsoft's Christmas sale, an entire year of Xbox Game Pass  rather than the £95.88 you'd pay over a year at the normal monthly price.

These festive deals is time-limited though -- it will be going back up to the normal price relatively soon.

Xbox Live Gold gives you a small number of free games every month, discounts on games in the Xbox Store, and access to online multiplayer functions in many games.

Xbox Game Pass, meanwhile, is an entirely different kettle of fish.

It is basically Netflix but for Xbox One games, letting you pick and choose from a library of over 100 games.

That library is being constantly updated too, with new Xbox One exclusives being added to it on the day they launch.

You also get 20 per cent off purchases and 10 per cent off add-ons for games in the library while you're a subscriber, so if you end your subscription or find out a game you love is being taken off the service you can carry on playing.
