THE MOST hated video on all of YouTube was created by...YouTube.

The YouTube Rewind video now has 10million dislikes, making it more unpopular than any other video uploaded to the site.

The video is a look-back at YouTube throughout 2018, and has earned nearly 120million views.

But since it was uploaded on December 6, it has quickly become the most unpopular video ever.

The "dislike" counter is somewhere between 9.8million and 10.09million (it changes as Google's systems weed out fake dislikes).

And it's only managed to earn 2.1million likes, giving it a dislike percentage of roughly 82% – suggesting the video has gone down like a lead balloon.

The video is now less popular than the previous record holder – Justin Bieber's Baby music video.

That has around 9.8million dislikes, and a much healthier dislike percentage of 49%.

In third place is a song by Jake Paul called It's Everyday Bro, which takes aim at rival YouTube star PewDiePie.

It's earned 4.05million dislikes, far less than YouTube Rewind – despite being live on the site since May last year.

A YouTube spokesperson told The Sun: "Every year when we release our Rewind video, our number one goal is getting the community to engage with it.

"This includes liking and disliking the video. With millions of comments, millions of likes and dislikes, and more than 100M views, we’re pleased with the results."

It's hard to pin down exactly why everyone seems to hate the YouTube Rewind video.

One obvious source of anger is the fact that PewDiePie (YouTube's most subscribed star) doesn't feature in the feature.

The top-rated comment (with 97,000 likes) on the video reads: "What happened to YouTube Rewind!?!?!?! And again without PewDiePie!"

Other commenters seemed generally unimpressed with the quality of the video.

One user with 13,000 likes said: "Is it just me, or does this seem low budget?"

Another said: "I'm impressed. They mange to make it worse every year."

The video features lots of YouTubers, some of whom won't be familiar to users – one complained: "Who the HELL are these people?!?"

YouTube fans tend to follow a select few YouTubers.

So it's possible that people watching the video won't recognise the stars featured – and may even actively dislike them.

This tribal nature could be prompting significant numbers of downvotes, although there's no way to tell for sure.

Some key YouTube moments were missed: like the KSI vs Logan Paul boxing match and the viral Johny Johny Yes Papa clip.

But gaming superstar Ninja (of Fortnite fame) was featured, even though he primarily streams content on rival site Twitch.

It's also possible that people are downvoting for the sake of it – simply because everyone else has.
