GTA 6 ‘leak’ reveals ‘drug lord’ plot and return to iconic Vice City – but fans warn it could be FAKE
IT'S been six years since Rockstar released its hugely popular shooter Grand Theft Auto V, and fans are baying for a followup.
The latest rumour suggests players could take the role of a drug lord in the series' latest instalment, which takes place in three locations from previous games.
The events of the game mainly take place in Liberty City and Vice City, with parts of San Andreas also making an appearance, according to the leak.
Games-maker Rockstar has yet to make an official announcement about GTA 6, but it's safe to say the title is in the works.
In a now-deleted post on Pastebin, a user allegedly leaked key details about the upcoming title.
They claimed the game will only be available on next-gen titles, such as "PS5" and "Xbox 2".
"This game can[‘]t come [out] for ps4 because of memory restrictions," the anonymous user said.
The title's story will be a typical raucous Rockstar adventure.
The leaker said: "In the title which will make you a kind of a drug lord, you will start as a small time guy in Liberty City doing odd chores and small-time thefts and eventually work your way to Vice City, where you will join a famous gang.
"You will be tasked to look after business in Liberty City until you are brought back to Vice City and soon become the drug lord."
The leaker gave no evidence for their claims, so take them with a healthy pinch of salt. A number of online commenters questioned their veracity.
One tweeter wrote: "This s**t prolly fake as hell but gta 6 better be in a new city because we havent had an original location since gta san in 2004".
Another said: "Anyone can make fake stuff up about GTA 6 it happened in GTA 5 online before".
