Official Pokémon-themed weddings are here – and they’re adorable
NERDY lovebirds in Japan can now get an official Pokémon wedding package.
Everything from table dressing to the food and party favours is Pokémon themed, and officially licensed by The Pokémon Company.
Pikachus, the electric mouse Pokémon who has become the exceptionally cute face of the franchise, are everywhere.
You'll be accompanied by bride and groom Pikachus for the ceremony, with plenty of opportunities for snaps with them at the reception.
The food on offer looks delicious and is, of course, Pokémon themed too.
The highlight is probably the Pokémon wedding cake, which is adorned with a super-cute picture of bride-and-groom Pikachus going in for a quick kiss.
It's also decorated with fresh fruit and Pokéball macroons.
Unfortunately the dapper bow-tie wearing Pikachu won't be there at your actual wedding - he is part of the presenting team for the Pokemon Kids TV YouTube channel who just happened to be helping out when the photos were taken.
The rest of the food looks pretty good too.
Officially licensed by The Pokémon Company, the custom wedding packages include full planning services and support.
The full package even includes some Pokémon-themed party favours for your guests to take home, and a ridiculously cute Pokémon marriage certificate.
Escrit hasn't revealed how much the package will cost, but is showing it off at Bridal Fairs in Japan this summer and taking bookings through next year.
It's been an exciting few weeks for Pokémon fans.
First, scientists revealed that Pokémon can actually change your brain if you play as a child, with young Pokéfans developing a special cluster of brain cells they will only ever use to identify the beasts.
The company has promised to "turn sleep into entertainment" with Pokémon Sleep, along with a host of other new games and services.
A Pokémon Go bar has opened up in Tokyo too, while Detective Pikachu is going great guns at the cinema.
Next week, more information is expected on Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, the latest full-on Pokémon games coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.
It's set in a new area that is inspired by the UK, and we can't wait to see more of what that looks like.
