Virtual ‘orgy worlds’ and romps with your kitchen table – our 5G sex toy future revealed

ULTRA-FAST 5G internet promises smooth Netflix streaming and connected driverless cars – but it will also enable a new generation of smart sex toys.

Creators of these so-called "teledildonic" gadgets say that in the 5G future, we'll all be having virtual orgies and even romping with our furniture.

Recent years have seen a surge in hi-tech sex toys.

We've seen eerily realistic sex robots, vibrators that buzz to your Spotify tunes, and even Alexa-controlled adult toys.

Now experts have told The Sun that 5G internet – with its fast speeds and low "latency" (lag, or delay) – will make even more advanced sex toys possible.

We spoke to Brian Sloan, who created the Autoblow: an oral sex simulator powered by an artificial intelligence that was trained on porn videos.

"There will be no lag perceived by users and so the motions transmitted to men's penises via devices like our Autoblow will feel absolutely real, especially when paired with a VR headset," Sloan told The Sun.

"The products that exist now that sync movements with pornography do so not only poorly mechanically, but poorly timing-wise.

"If a man uses an automatic stroking device synced with a video that is behind by even one second, the experience becomes not a sexual one but an annoying one because it no longer feels real."

Brian is referring to latency, which is the physical delay between signals being sent and received over the internet.

One of the main benefits of 5G is the reduced latency, which will be great for online gaming – where fast connections matter.

But Sloan reckons smart sex toys and VR headsets will offer such a realistic experience, you'll end up humping your kitchen table.

"A man will be able to attach an Autoblow to a table or desk, put on a VR headset and receive oral sex that to him feels and looks real," the teledildonic expert explained.

"In 5G powered virtual reality, the machine sitting on his lap will look like another human being, and its movements will be perfectly synchronised with the oral sex giver's hands and mouth movements."

What is 5G?

Here's what you need to know...

  • The term 5G stands for 5th-generation, and is simply the next "version" of mobile phone networks.
  • The world's network operators have settled on a new method of delivering mobile internet to your phone, making it possible to offer far higher download speeds.
  • Early figures suggest you'll be able to download 4K movies in a matter of seconds, and buffering video will be a thing of the past.
  • But 5G also promises low "latency" – the physical delay in transmitting data – which is a major boon for gamers, who desperately need their online actions to be sent and received as quickly as possible.
  • EE is first across the line in the UK, with 5G live in London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast, Birmingham or Manchester.
  • The good news is that EE plans to roll out 5G in a further 10 cities by the end of 2019: Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry and Bristol.
  • Vodafone has also switched on 5G in seven cities: Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, and London.

Sloan believes that such 5G-powered sex systems will eventually become so convincing that they'll "push the legal boundaries and definitions of prostitution".

He said it will expand the realism of online sex work, and make it available to a much larger customer base.

"I think we will certainly see virtual orgies become available to every adult," Brain told us.

"If all it takes is a VR headset, a sexual device and a 5G connection, I think people will venture into more and more taboo anonymous online experiences."

It might sound like a wacky idea, but the idea of "virtual orgy worlds" where people romp online is nothing new.

Last year we revealed Vrxcity, a hi-tech experience that lets you romp with 3D versions of actual porn stars in virtual reality.

Its creators used motion-capture technology to map the bodies of adult stars, transporting them convincingly into a VR world.

But higher-quality VR video and powerful "teledildonic" toys require much faster internet, the likes of which only 5G can offer.

"The two main benefits of 5G are speed and convenience," said VR sex expert Lisa Moore, speaking to The Sun.

Lisa is the "chief evangelist" as VRPorn.com, one of the leading virtual reality smut sites.

She said that 5G will enable "better-looking video and more accurate teledildonics", as well as faster VR porn downloads generally.

"5G will likely result in more digital sex – particularly when it comes to interactive live streams and shared virtual spaces," Lisa explained.

"It's not difficult to imagine a future where there are entire worlds populated with sexy avatars designed to attract a digital mate.

"The increased speed and convenience that 5G allows could play a big part in that.

"The lower latency that 5G provides will allow for more realistic interaction."
