When does the new iPhone come out? Next iPhone release date revealed by expert predictions
APPLE is set to launch a mobile that is cheaper than the iPhone SE, has the power of the iPhone 11 and the size of an iPhone 8.
The device, expected to be called iPhone SE 2, could be sold for as much as £81 ($100) or less in Spring 2020.
What is the new iPhone name?
In a new report from industry experts at TrendForce however, Apple is outed as allegedly preparing a new iPhone SE 2.
The analysts write that Apple "will launch the second generation of iPhone SE" in 2018, in a bid to "meet the demand" of budget buyers looking for a smaller device.
A report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the handset would feature the iPhone 11's 3GB of Ram and A13 Bionic CPU.
It's also expected to have finger ID, a 4.7-inch screen with LCD display and even Face ID.
It's rumoured to follow the new iPhone 11, released in September.
When is the new iPhone released?
Apple is a creature of habit, sticking to an obvious pattern for iPhone releases each year.
The big launch event always takes place in September, and generally falls early on in the month – on a Tuesday or Wednesday, typically.
Back in July, Apple was tipped by experts to launch a cheap £499/$499 iPhone.
But, according to expert analyst Dan Ives of Wedbush Securities it's bad news for UK customers.
He said: a UK launch may be unlikely.
"Only emerging markets will be the focus in our opinion, would be a surprise to see this in the US and Europe as it could cannibalise sales of iPhone 11 base model," Dan explained.
