What is London Resort and when does it open?
LONDON Resort is a massive £3.5billion theme park set to open just outside London and is billed as one of the most ambitious projects ever in Europe.
But what is it all about and when is it expected to open its doors to the public?
What is London Resort?
The 535-acre park has been billed as one of the most ambitious theme park projects ever in Europe.
Fresh artist's impressions show "next generation" rides and experiences for thrill-seekers.
Around 70 per cent of the attractions are expected to be undercover.
The entrance to the resort will be via a grand plaza that leads hotel guests and visitors through a High Street which will be bustling with shops, restaurants, hotels, a convention centre and a waterpark.
Visitors can start their journey in The Studios, a gritty, modern-day warehouse district that will be showing big blockbusters.
It will be the first development of its kind in Europe to be built from scratch since the opening of Disneyland Paris in 1992.
When does London Resort open?
The first phase of London Resort will open to the public in 2024 on the site of a former cement works in Swanscombe, Kent.
It will eventually be a two park resort, with the second expected in 2029, a decade from now.
The London Resort said: “When complete, it will be three times larger than any other park in the UK.
"Two theme parks and a resort water park will be set over 535 acres, the equivalent of 136 Wembley Stadiums."
