The best pubs with beer gardens where you can book a room for less than £40 a night
A UK holiday is looking like the only option this year as travel bans across Europe are enforced.
Thankfully, there are lots of pubs which you can book a night's stay at before heading downstairs for a pint.
Even better, despite gloomier weather in recent days, many establishments in the UK have outdoor spaces and beer gardens to make the most of the rest of the summer.
Out of 47,000 pubs in the UK there are 27,000 with gardens, according to The British Beer & Pub Association.
We've rounded up the best pubs you can book a short weekend break in, all for under £40 a night - and they all have a beer garden too.
Thankfully, there are still lots you can stay in which cost less than £40 per room - here are the best.
The Greyhound, York
Dating back to the 1800s, the pub has just four rooms for you to choose from, two of which are dog friendly.
While you can enjoy the Yorkshire Moors closeby, within walking distance is the Hornby Estate - where guests can see the castle, and wild deer.
The Dartbridge Inn, Buckfastleigh
A Greene King pub, the pet-friendly pub is on the edge of Dartmoor.
Sitting in the garden in the summer is advised, being just steps from the river.
The County Arms, Truro
Many of the rooms at The County Arms in Truro overlook the woodlands surrounding the venue.
The pub also serves award winning St Austell Brewery Ales to enjoy downstairs.
Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Arnside
Many of the rooms at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks not only have stunning views of the Estuary, but also binoculars for bird watching.
Coming by train? They will even pick you up from the station.
The Swan, Thornbury
The Swan, formerly a coach house, is one of the oldest buildings in Thornbury, dating back to 1633.
There are three rooms to choose from, with a breakfast-on-the-go option.
Sun Inn, Penrith
The Sun Inn has five rooms to choose from, as well as a children's playground in the beer garden although caution is advised due to the proximity to the river.
The pub is popular with cyclists attempting the 140m Coast-to-Coast cycle challenge.
Globe Hotel, King's Lynn
The Globe Hotel, a Wetherspoons pub, keeps its name dating back to 1650.
Music is played until midnight at weekends, which is best enjoyed in the beer garden overlooking the River Great Ouse, but you can request quiet rooms away from it.
