The most beautiful bingo halls in the UK – and one is now a Wetherspoons

WHILE bingo might not seem like the coolest way to spend a Saturday, the gambling experience is seeing a surge, with many located in stunning buildings.

Some clubs and bars have even opened dedicated to the game - here are the most beautiful places you can play bingo.

One of the most famously beautiful locations for a Bingo hall, the Grade I listed building was originally one of the most beautiful Art Deco cinemas of the 1930s.

Artists who once performed at the venue includes Frank Sinatra, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.

Apollo Bingo, Wales

The building was also built in the 1930s and the art deco exterior of the building was Grade II listed in 1989.

The club underwent a £500,000 renovation in 2016 with a new entrance, stage and seating.

Mecca, Taunton

Previously The Gaumont Theatre, it once saw big names perform there, including The Beatles and David Bowie in the 1960s, before becoming the bingo hall it now is.

A current petition wants to turn the building back into a music venue.

Dabbers Social, Aldgate

An example of bingo becoming a modern trend, Dappers Social in the centre of London is found within a neon-lit club.

Themed events include Dog Bingo, Brunch Club Bingo and bingo nights with dance battles on stage.

Hijingo, Shoreditch

While yet to open, Hijingo deems itself a "multi-sensory immersive bingo experience" which includes bars, as well as DJs and music events.

The bright red lights will make you feel more like you're in the club than a bingo hall, when it opens this winter.

Opera House, Tunbridge Wells

The Opera House in Tunbridge Wells, while once a bingo hall, is now a Wetherspoons pub.

However, the interior decor has been kept with huge chandeliers and gold balustrades from when it once hosted shows.
