Following a £50m renovation, the new hotel keeps many of the features of the 18th century prison.

The bedrooms have been created using three of the former cells combined, with lavish ensuite bathrooms inside.

Options include Classic Rooms and Family Rooms, as well as the Governor’s bedrooms which have access to the private Executive Lounge.

Take your dog along too - they offer dog-friendly getaways with pets being given beds, treats as well as breakfast.

The former corridors of the jail have retained their original character, although now have a huge glass ceiling above it.

You can dine at the on-site restaurant The Chapel Restaurant or the Jolly Hangman Tavern.

The Chapel Bar serves a range of cocktails and gins, as well as daily afternoon tea between 2pm and 4pm.

You can even get married there with venues available for up to 300 people, although this will be on hold depending on the pandemic.

One-night at The Bodmin Jail Hotel starts from £130, while tickets for the Bodmin Jail Visitor Attraction which includes an overnight stay and breakfast or dinner start from £175 for two.

It is also a great place to stay to explore Cornwall, including the Bodmin Moor or the Eden Project.

Book your stay at The Bodmin Jail Hotel from February 12 .
