The highest infinity pool in the world has opened in Dubai with amazing views from 965ft up

AN infinity pool in Dubai has won the Guinness World Record for highest in the world - and isn't for the faint-hearted.

Located 965ft above ground, the outdoor rooftop pool is on the 77th floor of the Address Beach Resort in Dubai.

The hotel opened in December, with the pool receiving the accolade for "Highest Outdoor Infinity pool in a Building" earlier this month.

With a surface area of 6,027sqft, the 75m long swimming pool also has a "wet" sun bed area and amazing views of the city.

Swimmers will be able to spot the Palm Jumeirah, The World Islands and the Burj Al Arab from the rooftop too.

You can only visit if staying at the hotel, but non-guests can head to the Zeta Seventy Seven rooftop restaurant next to it.

If you fancy staying at the hotel, there are three other swimming pools too including a family pool and kids pool.

While a trip to Dubai is off the cards for now, it is hoped they may resume in time for the summer when the UK lockdown restrictions are lifted.

It also isn't the only impressive rooftop pool - in 2019, a rooftop infinity swimming pool with a 360-degree view of London built on top of a skyscraper in London was proposed.

The plans revealed a heart-stopping design with four transparent walls and a clear bottom on top of 55-storey building.

In Singapore, you can find the longest elevated infinity pool in the world at Marina Bay Sands hotel which is the size of three Olympic swimming pools.

Head to an island in Fiji where there is an infinity pool at every single villa - if you can drop £2,000 a night.

Some airport hotels even have infinity swimming pools, with Punta Cana airport having one overlooking the runways.
