Seaside holiday cottages to rent in Bournemouth, Cornwall, Somerset, Norfolk & Devon from next week

WHILE a holiday abroad remains shrouded in uncertainty, one thing we can bank on is a coastal cottage getaway in the UK.

There are some lovely seaside retreats still available to rent from next week, when travel restrictions in England start to ease.

Self-catered holidays will welcome guests back again from April 12, which is next Monday.

The easing of restrictions is giving Brits that spring feeling, as many have rushed to book up staycations.

Despite the surge in UK bookings, there are affordable cottages still available to book from £42.50 per person a night that are close to the coast.

We've rounded up some of the best to book now.

Just a 20 minute walk to the sea and the sandy beaches of Norfolk is Piper Cottage, based in a small and quiet village in Holme-next-the-Sea.

There's a great pub serving good food nearby, while the cottage itself is brimming with character - think original beams, thick stone walls and a cosy wood burning stove.

Guests get their own garden with space for alfresco meals and a south-facing terrace for sunbathing. Thornham and Old Hunstanton are also nearby with shops and restaurants.

Just one mile from the coast and about ten miles from St Ives, Jennys Cottage is a lovely option for those wanting to explore Cornwall.

The property has great seaside and country views, with room for two and a garden with outdoor furniture for enjoying the sun.

There are shops and a village pub a ten minute walk away in Pendeen.

A five minute drive from this country cottage is Cornwall's south coast with beautiful beaches, secluded coves and pretty fishing villages including Looe, Polperro and Mevagissey.

Head off to Somerset where you can stay at Highbridge Cottage, perfectly placed for visiting the sandy beaches of Burnham and Brean.

The pretty detached cottage is postcard-perfect, set in lovely gardens with patio areas and a barbecue for outdoor dining, though a great pub is also just down the road.

Away from the beach, those who stay here are close to some of Somerset's star attractions like the Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and Clarks Village.
