Diggerland theme park in Devon to close FOREVER due to Covid
DIGGERLAND theme park has announced they are closing one of their parks forever due to the pandemic.
The family favourite attraction in Devon announced that they would shut their doors from September 5.
The theme park said in an announcement on social media: "It is with great regret that we announce the closure of Diggerland Devon.
"We will be closing to the public on 05/09/2021 and remain closed for the foreseeable future.
"We'd like to thank everyone who visited Devon and we hope to see at our other parks next year."
A park spokesperson added that it had "not been easy" during the pandemic.
Sister parks in Kent, Durham and Yorkshire will remain open for business.
Guests who have bookings for the park will be contacted by Diggerland for "alternative arrangements" they added.
Families were left "gutted" by the news, with one person writing on social media: "We have some really fond memories of our visits with our young son who has disabilities.
"He absolutely loved it and your staff couldn't be more helpful to ensure we got the best out the day."
Another person wrote: "Oh no this is so sad my kids love it here. I discovered Diggerland Devon about 10 years ago and we have gone every summer since."
One mum said they were "devastated" as many said they would try and visit one last time before it shut next month.
The digger-themed parks are a favourite with families, where guests can play on real JCBs as well as themed ride and attractions.
Diggerland is just one of the quirky attractions in the UK - along with a farm dedicated to ice cream and a space-themed park in Devon.
If you head across to Las Vegas, an adults-only version of Diggerland lets guests play with real-size diggers and bulldozers at a theme park.
