If you don’t book your summer 2022 staycations now you face missing out – as parts of Cornwall ALREADY half full

BRITS are racing to book a summer staycation next year, as some parts of the country warn they are already half full.

As UK holidays boomed this year - due to travel ban and confusing rules - many parts of the country sold out as families were faced with sky-high prices.

And it looks like Brits can expect a similar problem next year with bookings already flooding in.

Awaze, who owns Hoseasons and cottages.com said bookings for summer 2022 are up 82 per cent, compared to this time in 2019 for summer 2020 holidays, while My Favourite Cottages has seen an increase of 483 percent in advance bookings for 2022 compared to last year, mainly from larger groups.

Small companies are also still seeing a boom in bookings - a private island in Scotland said five of their nine cottages are fully booked for summer 2022, while lettings agent Cornish Gems said 59 per cent of their properties were already full for next summer.

Glamping website Canopy & Stars warn their sites are nearly 40 per cent full for next summer too, while Cornish specialist Aspects Holidays said their holiday homes in St Ives are 75 per cent full for the summer school holidays.

Aspects Holiday director Mandy Spencer said the boom was likely because of the popularity this year leading to many popular UK hotspots selling out, with families not wanting to miss out for a second year running.

She told : "Because of the limited availability in Cornwall this year, people are looking ahead to ensure they don’t miss out again next year."

Summer holiday bookings for 2022 were already booking up back in Easter, leading to holiday companies offering bargain deals from £49.

And Warner Leisure Hotels have since doubled their capacity for 2022 holidays due to strong demand.

Of course, while some of the fancier breaks, or the treehouses and hot tub cottages may be selling out already, there are still some deals for 2022, including:

Families wanting to get a holiday in should check the terms and conditions, with many offering protection if the trip has to be cancelled due to Covid.

Others offer cheap deposits and low payment plans so you don't have to pay the full cost upfront.

If you really fancy a holiday away next summer, it is best to book that in now too - airlines are offering 2022 sales, such as easyJet Holidays with breaks from £161pp.
