Flight attendant reveals how to get special treatment including free drinks
A FLIGHT attendant has revealed the easy way to get better service on a flight - which may even get you free drinks.
All you need to do is take a little something extra on board with you when you fly.
The unnamed flight attendant, who has worked for a Canadian airline for more than 15 years, revealed how a little gift goes a long way.
She told : "It used to happen quite frequently [...] when we used to do cash transactions.
"'Keep the rest of the change, or here's an extra five,' or whatever that was."
However, as most airlines now only accept cards, she said there are other ways to be nice.
She continued: "We're never expecting it. But if people want to show appreciation to their flight crew, a gift card to Tim Hortons or Starbucks goes a long way.
"I can't promise that, but [you're] more likely to get a free drink if there is a treat involved for the crew.
"That goes a long way with us and we feel appreciated."

Cabin crew member Helena Afroughi agreed, saying you will likely get some extra perks without paying for them.
She said: "What always works is when people bring some sweets to the crew, chocolates or whatever. And they make themselves known. Don't just give it and run away.
"When people do that, the cabin chief would be like 'make sure you go up to him and ask him if he wants coffee or tea' because we could give it for free. Obviously not everything from the snack bar though.”
Flight attendant Kat Kamali said that it only needs to be as much as a £5 gift card to make a difference.
She added: "Your flight will change DRAMATICALLY."
"We will know what you look like and we will know where you are sitting and the whole crew will be taken care of."
