The 750,000 sqft park, in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, will be made up of three key areas, which visitors will be able to walk through.

The first is a 350,000 sqft film-inspired attraction called Pinewood Studio Experience.

It will rival the Harry Potter Studio Tours in nearby Leavesden, Hertfordshire.

There will be another 350,000 sqft of film production studios which will include sound stages, workshops and offices.

Finally, there will be a 50,000 sqft education and business hub called Centre Stage.

New plans submitted hope it will be an “international visitor attraction” including “rotating exhibitions” with a “glimpse [of] the experience of film-making”.

Up to two million visitors are expected to go to the attraction every year to enjoy some Hollywood magic.

Pinewood Group Chairman Paul Golding said: “The Government and Buckinghamshire LEP have recognised Pinewood Studios as a major economic asset to be enhanced with the creation of a screen growth hub for the UK.

“We have been looking at a visitor experience for some time and feel that now is the right moment to bring it forward.

“The project will strengthen UK film and bring much needed jobs and spending."

Along with the Star Wars and Marvel films, it has also been used to film the Carry On series, Casino Royale and Oliver Twist, having operated as a studio for 85 years.

If you can't wait until then to visit a film-themed tourist attraction, then you're in luck.

A new Harry Potter attraction is opening at Warner Bros Studio Tour on January 22, where visitors can step behind the scenes of the pranks and tricks within the magical wizarding world.

And if that's not enough, a new Game of Thrones Studio Tour is opening on February 4 and will give fans the chance to see sets, props and costumes up close.
