BRITS heading off on their hols will need to pay a new tax to enter 28 places this year.
New rules are being introduced for 26 European countries, one Asian country and one European city from this year.
Following Brexit, UK citizens must follow the same rules as non-EU countries and pay to enter the European states which make up the Schengen Area.
This includes popular holiday destinations Spain, Portugal, France and Greece.
Before travelling, Brits will need to fill out a European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) at a cost of €7.
Applicants will be asked for information about their identity, passport, education, job, recent travel and criminal convictions.
People aged under 18 or over 70 will be exempt.
The visa-waiving form can be applied for online and is valid for three years or until your passport expires.
The government is yet to launch the website but it is expected the ETIAS will be introduced by the end of 2022.
