Change to Spanish holidays from TODAY in last-minute boost to half term breaks
SPAIN has scrapped its outdoor face mask requirement today in a boost to Brits who are heading abroad during half term.
Face masks have been mandatory since December, but the rule was finally lifted this morning.

Until today, masks were required in a range of outdoor spaces, including at the beaches, on the promenade and at swimming pools.
Now, tourists and residents can enjoy those spaces without needing to put a face covering on.
However, people aged six and over are still required to wear masks in some outdoor spaces.
They must be worn at mass events that take place outside where attendees are standing. If they are seated, masks must be worn if people cannot socially distance.
They must also be worn on public transport, including on the platforms and stations.
Brits heading to Spain during half term will welcome the news, but must continue to follow strict Covid rules which remain in place across the mainland, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.

Spain is one of seven European hotspots that has put an expiration date on vaccine certificates, which could mean some Brits won't be able to visit during half term.
Spain will only permit Brits to enter if they can prove they have been fully vaccinated against Covid within the last 270 days.
This will be a problem for any Brits who received their second vaccine before mid-May 2021 and have not yet had their booster jab.
On top of that, kids aged between 12 and 17 must also be double jabbed.
That might be an issue for families as many teens are yet to receive their second jab, so they won't be allowed in.
But there is some good news for Brits heading on their hols next week as more UK travel restrictions are being scrapped.
From 4am tomorrow, fully vaccinated arrivals into the UK will no longer need to have any Covid tests.
The change will save families from forking out for lateral flow tests when they get back from a holiday.
Arrivals to the UK will only need to fill in a Passenger Locator Form when they enter, as long as they are fully vaccinated.
In more good news, a growing number of holiday hotspots are scrapping the need for Covid tests.
Greece and Portugal are the latest countries to ditch the requirement, meaning Brits can head on holiday without the need for a single Covid test.
