The budget airline assigns random seating to passengers, but offers the option to pay extra to book a specific seat.

On Seamus’s flight, a standard ticket cost €20 and the seat selection cost €28, making a total of €48 for his flight.

However, some people said that they don’t bother paying for seat selection and still manage to get the best seat on the plane.

Seamus said: “I bought the most expensive seat on my Ryanair flight – was it worth it?

“I don’t know what’s crazier, the fact that the flight is only €20 or that the seat cost more than the flight itself.”

In , he boarded the flight and was sat in the front row next to the door, which gave him plenty of legroom and easy access to the toilets.

He was also on a row on his own and commented that ‘nobody else could afford these awesome seats’.

At the end of his journey, he concluded: “The flight was €20 and the seat was €28 so I think it was worth it.”
