According to the , people will instead be advised to avoid large social contact for seven days and to wear a mask while outside instead of having to quarantine.

While some rules still remain in place - such as face masks remaining compulsory for all indoor public spaces - Spain is one of the first countries in Europe to reduce the Covid measures.

The Public Health Commission has scrapped the rules to "normalise Covid" from today, although will only be in place as long as Covid cases remain low.

Only those who are vulnerable, including anyone over 60, or pregnant, will need to take tests if symptomatic and isolate if it comes back positive.

The popular Spanish islands - which include Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria - are now operating with no Covid restrictions for the first time since the pandemic began.

The Balearic Islands have also ended most of their restrictions due to an improvement in Covid cases.

Spain changed its entry requirements earlier this month to allow unvaccinated Brits who recently recovered from Covid to enter.

Previously, only vaccinated Brits could visit Spain, but the change means people with one or zero jabs can also enter.

Additionally, Spain has scrapped the requirement for kids to be vaccinated to enter.
