Tui warns no food or drink will be available on flights from 15 UK airports – will you be affected?
TUI Airways has warned passengers flying that food and drink will be “limited” on its flights from 15 UK airports.
The airline operator revealed the sudden change to their service which means they will no longer serve hot and cold meals or sandwiches.
As well, Tui said the snacks and drinks they serve on short and mid-haul flights will be “limited”.
A statement on May 5 confirmed this was due to “staff shortages” which would take place over the coming days and would affect 15 airports around the country.
Tui said: "We can confirm that unfortunately due to staff shortages with our catering supplier, there will be no hot and cold meals or sandwiches, and a limited offering of snacks and drinks, available onboard Tui Airways short- and mid-haul flights over the coming days.
"Customers may therefore want to bring their own food and soft drinks onboard (no alcohol permitted).

“Any soft drinks over 100ml will need to be purchased after you have passed through security."
It added though that the disruption will not affect long-haul flights to Aruba, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Orlando and St Lucia and meal services on these flights will "continue to operate as normal."
Tui emphasised that they were “continually monitoring the situation” and were “working closely” with their suppliers in the hope of limiting the impact to their in-flight services.
All customers affected will be directly contacted with the company apologising for any inconvenience caused.

The news comes after a mum-of-four hit out at Tui after her family were left stranded at an airport for 14 hours.
Lisa Mason, 47, and her four children were due to fly back to Manchester after enjoying a break in Larnaca, Cyprus.

And things went from bad to worse as passengers were then left waiting for three hours on board the grounded plane before being herded back into the departure lounge.
The angry mum has branded the situation a "shambles" and says it has "completely taken the shine off" the family's first holiday since the pandemic.
Passengers were eventually allowed to board another plane and took off at 3.18pm local time - almost 14 hours behind schedule.
Tui has since apologised to the affected holidaymakers.
The firm said passengers were given vouchers to buy food and drink at the airport and its customer teams would be in touch with them regarding compensation.
