I’m a flight attendant and there is an easy way to get a better seat – without paying for it

A FLIGHT attendant has revealed how to get a better seat when travelling - and you don't have to pay for it.

While she said upgrades aren't likely, there is ways to get more legroom, or even free snacks.

The flight attendant explained on the forum: "Flight attendant here: my company doesn’t have upgrades really.

"However, trust me when I say this... kindness goes a long way.

"It might seem lame but honestly, being respectful and kind to the flight attendants will make your trip a hell of a lot more enjoyable.

"It’s just like any job that has a service element, if you’re polite to us and have manners we are more likely to give you an extra drink/snack if possible, even move you to a seat with more legroom if we can."

She finished by saying: "We deal with so many entitled a******* that simple kindness really does go a long way."

They aren't the first person to reveal how being nice gets you extra things.

Cabin crew member Helena Afroughi agreed, saying you will likely get some extra perks without paying for them.

She said: "What always works is when people bring some sweets to the crew, chocolates or whatever. And they make themselves known. Don't just give it and run away.

"When people do that, the cabin chief would be like 'make sure you go up to him and ask him if he wants coffee or tea' because we could give it for free. Obviously not everything from the snack bar though.”

Flight attendant Kat Kamali said that it only needs to be as much as a £5 gift card to make a difference.

She added: "Your flight will change DRAMATICALLY."

"We will know what you look like and we will know where you are sitting and the whole crew will be taken care of."
