I bought a 5* holiday to Cyprus for just £1.40 – here is how I did it
ONE lucky mum managed to nab a seven-night 5* holiday to Cyprus for just £1.40.
Joanna Liburd bagged the Jet2 trip thanks to the tour operator's Bid for a Break campaign, which let Brits bid for holidays across Europe.
After bidding the low amount, she will now spend seven nights at The Royal Apollonia on the holiday island with return flights included.
She said: “I can’t wait for our holiday to Cyprus. I’m even more excited knowing I secured it for just £1.40!
"We had just come back from our holiday with Jet2holidays to Gran Canaria and fancied a bit more sunshine, so I decided to enter!
"My choice of bid was centred around my son who has recently turned 14, I can’t believe it paid off - we’re so excited for our trip to Cyprus.”

To take part, customers need to decide on the price they want to pay and place a bid via the Jet2 app.
If they are the only user to bid that amount and that amount is the lowest, they will buy the holiday for that price.
Bids open at 9am every Monday, with different locations to bid on until Thursday at midday, with winners announced that day.
Destinations include popular holiday hotspots in Europe, such as the Spanish Islands, Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Turkey.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Congratulations to Joanna for successfully bidding for a holiday with Jet2holidays through our ‘Bid for a Break’ campaign.
"The much sought-after campaign proved extremely popular last year, so we are delighted to see it return and have no doubt that it will once again be a huge hit."
