Ryanair passenger misses flight after boarding the WRONG plane – that was heading 1,304 miles in the wrong direction
A RYANAIR passenger missed his flight after he boarded the wrong plane - which was going more than, 1,304 miles in the other direction.
Elliot Booth, 29, was travelling from Liverpool to Barcelona for a work trip - but somehow boarded a Ryanair flight to Dublin instead.
He only realised his mistake when he went to take his seat and found someone else had the same seat number.
He told that he checked in at the gate and was then put onto a bus, with no staff telling him to go another way.
Even worse, he had some of his colleagues bags with him as he was a priority passenger.
He explained: "I sat down until a passenger with the same seat finally arrived.

"Then after a small disagreement over seating we both checked our tickets and he proceeded to tell me this was the Dublin plane not the Barcelona plane."
However, by the time he told staff got off the plane, he had missed his flight.
He then had to pay an extra £110 to rebook, as well as a taxi and train fee after having to fly to a different airport in Barcelona.
He added: "Overall the whole episode felt overall bitter and their staff just wanted to distance themselves and drop any responsibility."

A Ryanair spokesperson confirmed that he went through the correct gate but "failed to follow the allocated route" to his plane, which led to him boarding the wrong aircraft.
They said: "It is each passenger's responsibility to ensure they board the correct aircraft. There are several touchpoints throughout the passenger journey which inform passengers of the aircraft's destination."
It's not the first time passengers have boarded the wrong Ryanair flight.
A gran ended up 680 miles away from her grandson's wedding after she boarded the wrong flight and ending up in Poland rather than Slovenia.
A couple who were meant to return to London following a short trip to France somehow ended up in Spain.

Last year, a couple were flown 1,200 miles in the wrong direction by Ryanair and only realised after they arrived in Greece rather than Spain.
And in 2018, a man ended up on the wrong side of the Arctic after boarding a flight 1,400 miles in the opposite direction.
