The 22 things that are FREE at Disney World – from food and drink to souvenirs

A TRIP to Disney World can be expensive, so it's understandable that visitors want to make the most of their visit.

Fortunately, Facebook user Elaine Boyle shared a list of 30 things that are still free at the theme park in the Disney and Orlando for Brits , to help guests squeeze as much as they can out of their stay.

Here is the list of things that can be enjoyed without spending any money while visiting the park and staying at its hotels.

1. Birthday presents

If you’re celebrating your birthday at Disney World you might be able to get some extra presents for free.

Sprinkles in Disney Springs gives out birthday cupcakes if you sign up for their loyalty program, Landry’s (the restaurant group that owns T-Rex Café, Rainforest Café, and Yak & Yeti) has a $25 (£20.52) birthday gift card if you’re part of their loyalty program.

You might also be able to get a free dessert at Disney-owned restaurants.

2. Free celebration badges

If you head to guest relations in any of the parks, or your hotel’s front desk, you can pick up a free badge.

There are several different badges available.

3. Transportation

Disney World buses, the Skyliner, the Monorail, and the boats are all free for guests.

4. Scavenger hunts

An additional fun way to entertain children at the park is with the scavenger hunts at Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and the 50th anniversary scavenger hunt at Disney World hotels.

5. Play Disney Parks app

This app helps pass the time while standing in the long queues.

It’s full of games, quizzes, and interactive elements that are tied to the park you’re in at the time.

6. KidCot Stops in EPCOT

Each World Showcase pavilion has a KidCot Stop where kids can get trading cards and learn about different cultures.

7. Club Cool Soda Samples

If you visit Club Cool in EPCOT you can get free samples of Coca Cola products from around the world.

8. Water

Guests can get free water at Disney World quick service restaurants.

9. Resort entertainment

Some resorts have free entertainment, including Yeehaa Bob at Port Orleans, the pianist at Grand Floridian, and there are free performances at Disney Springs.

10. Disney Springs parking

All guests have access to free parking at Disney Springs.

11. Movies Under the Stars

Every night Disney World hotels show a film outside, usually near the pool or on the lawn.

Resort activity guides will show you which films are on.

12. Animation Experience

Guests can stop by Rafiki’s Planet Watch in Animal Kingdom and get a free drawing class from a Disney artist.

13. Admission for kids under 3

All children under the age of 3 get free admission to Disney World.

14. Buffets for kids under 3

If you’re dining at a buffet or family-style restaurant with a child under the age of 3, they can eat and drink free of charge.

15. WiFi

WiFi is free at Disney World hotels and everywhere else in Disney World.

16. Refills

Drinks refills are free at Quick Service and Table Service restaurants in Disney World. Some Quick Service spots have self-serve refill stations.

17. Festival concerts

Guests at the EPCOT festivals can enjoy free concerts including: Disney on Broadway at the Festival of the Arts, Garden Rocks concert series at the Flower and Garden Festival, Eat to the Beat at the Food and Wine Festival, and the Candlelight Processional at the Festival of the Holidays.

18. Fireworks

Visitors to the park can enjoy fireworks at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, included with park admission, but you don’t need to enter
the parks to see them.

Guests can catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks for free from the beach at the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian.

The Contemporary has a second floor viewing platform that is often open for anyone.

19. Park Maps

Park guests can still get paper park maps at the entrances to all four theme parks, for no extra cost.

20. Transportation collector cards

Free transportation collector cards can be acquired from cast members on Disney buses, Monorails, boats, trams, and the Skyliner.

Each different mode of transport has its own card to collect.

21. Pixie Dust

At Sir Mickey’s in the Magic Kingdom, you can ask a cast member for some pixie dust, and they’ll sprinkle it on you (or your kids) from a magic wand.

22. Wake-up calls from your characters

If you need (or want) a wake-up call at your Disney World hotel, you can arrange for on of your favourite Disney characters to give you a call to get you up at the right time.
