In July, the island celebrates Crop Over, Barbados’ most popular and colourful festival celebrating the harvest – it’s one big party that lasts all the way until August.
February is also a great month for cultural celebrations including the Holetown Festival, a week-long event showcased by street parades, folk singing and dancing.
Those looking for a laid-back holiday might prefer to visit in May or June when the crowds start to thin out but beware that’s also the start of the wet season.

Another time that is typically overlooked is shoulder season (between peak and off-peak), in May, June and November where it’s slightly less crowded, and hotel prices are more affordable.
