However, she recently explained why she thinks it's rude for other travellers to put their seat back if they can see an unhappy child onboard.

She wrote on the :  If you see a parent struggling with children behind you, don't be a d*** and recline your seat.

"That extra 10cm when you are holding and comforting a crying child is the difference between them quickly dozing off, and another hour of screaming for all to enjoy."

Mums with babies are often advised to book the bulkhead seats, as these have extra space and bassinets that attach to the wall for their kids to sleep in.

A mum recently sparked debate after a fellow passenger stopped her reclining her seat at all on a long-haul flight because they had a big child on their lap.

She said: “The woman behind me had quite a big child on her lap during the flight and was sat next to the child's father.

“Because of this, I was unable to recline my seat for the entire flight.

“I tried very gently reclining it a little at some stage (before I had seen the child) but she was angry and swore, so I put it upright."

Some people were on her side about being annoyed, but not everyone.

One person said: "In theory you should be able to recline but in practice if there is a child on a knee or a very obese person then you can't."

Another agreed: "I'd try to live without the recline if the person behind me had a child on their lap. Especially if I was fortunate enough to have been able to get an exit row seat."

A third wrote: "I once had it happen to me on a night flight from the states. A woman had a child on her seat and booted my chair when I tried reclining."
