SPAIN is hoping to capitalise on Brits' rising energy costs, with claims that winter warming trips will be cheaper than paying energy bills this year.
The Canary islands and other southern Spanish resorts are hoping to make the most of "thermal tourism" as Brits are expected to flee the cold winter weather.

Greece is hoping Brits will opt to spend their money on holidays rather than heating their homes, with the country's tourism minister Vassilis Kikilias urging people to visit.
He told : “Our doors are open 12 months round, our friends in northern Europe should know this. They should head here for the winter.”
Brits will also be targeted with an advertising campaign that asks if they “Wanna feel 20 again?" before adding: "With warm winter temperatures up to 20C, Greece is the place to be.”

Visiting Spain will be easier by the time the winter rolls around with more Covid restrictions set to be scrapped.
