This is the best campsite in England – and you can stay from £21.50 a night
BRITIAN's best campsite has been revealed and it can be booked from £21.50 per night.
The Silverdale caravan park in Silverdale, Lancashire was named campsite of the year by the AA and is an AA Platinum Pennant park, with a 5-star rating, marking it as the best in the country.
The site is situated in the Silverdale and Arnside Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty amid more than 100 acres of woodland and countryside.
It also overlooks Morecambe Bay and Arnside Knott.
The AA were particularly impressed with the site and described it as "A superb family holiday destination, enveloped in wooded countryside and overlooking Morecambe Bay.
"All areas of the park are maintained in excellent condition with mature trees, shrubs and seasonal flowers; creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

"The pitch density is generous and the spotlessly clean amenity blocks are conveniently located."
The AA were also impressed by the park's facilities, with indoor pools, a gym, games room, playground, bar and sports field all included, as well as a launderette, food and dining options, WiFi and other entertainment.
They said: "There is a choice of two superb indoor swimming pools, a well-stocked, licensed shop, a stylish bar and restaurant, bowling alley with amusements, toddlers' soft play area and a state-of-the-art gym.
"Free WiFi is available throughout the park. Luxury en suite glamping is also available.

In total there are 82 touring pitches at Silverdale for caravans and motorhomes, six tent pitches and 13 holiday homes.
The park is open year round too.
Staying there costs from £21.50 per person per night in a tent, which includes electricity, with a two-man tent pitch available from £43 per night.
To stay at Silverdale in a caravan costs from £100 per night, with a minimum three night stay.
Elsewhere, the best campsite in Wales was named as Islawrffordd Caravan Park in Barmouth.
The site has clear views of Cardigan Bay, the Llŷn Peninsula and the Snowdonia and Cader Idris mountain ranges.
The AA said it was an "excellent, family-run and family-friendly park that has seen considerable investment over recent years.
"Fully matured, the touring area boasts fully-serviced pitches, a superb toilet block with underfloor heating and top-quality fittings.
"There is private access to miles of sandy beach, adjacent to which is an excellent enclosed children's play area with imaginative quality equipment to satisfy small children, including a pirate ship."
Meanwhile, Scotland's best site was Rushin House Caravan Park in Belcoo.
The AA said it occupies "a scenic location overlooking Lough MacNean, close to the picturesque village of Belcoo" and is the product of "meticulous planning and execution".
