PLANE COOL

The must-buy plane accessory that will change the way you fly

I RECENTLY discovered a game-changing travel item when I was on a long haul flight.

On a recent trip to San Diego from the UK, I headed straight to my bulkhead seat (the best one to pick, in my opinion).

Previous flights I've made the mistake of relying on the plane's free headphones.

Not only can they be uncomfortable, but they don't even work half of the time.

And with more headphones going Bluetooth, unless you have your wire, those expensive headphones will be of no use.

Thankfully, I found a miracle gadget which has changed the way I fly.

The gadget lets you connect your wireless headphones to the inflight entertainment screen.

I have my favourite £150 Marshall headphones which are noise-cancelling and so comfy.

The AirFly accessory plugs into the headphone socket.

It then connects to your AirPods or headphones via Bluetooth - letting you use your own for the entire flight.

I managed to watch a number of films on a very long flight in comfort, and without having to max out the volume to drown out the loud plane engine.

My seat neighbour was fascinated, asking me what it was and said they would be getting it for themselves after I explained it.

There are 20 hours of battery life, but you can still use it while it charges.

You can also get an AirFly duo if you want to split with your partner while watching something.

You can get it for £34.99 on Amazon, and it's the best money I have ever spent.

One frequent traveller said they even have an old pair of headphones they always take on flights simply to watch films with.

She told : "While I usually use Bluetooth headphones or earbuds with a lightning cable that connects to my iPhone, neither is likely to allow me to watch a move on the seatback screen of a flight.

"That's because in my experience, airlines typically require a traditional aux jack to access the audio for inflight television shows, movies and games."

New plane seats could ditch the need for any headphones, with plans for headrests to have built-in speakers.
