At Deck 747 visitors are welcomed on board the upper deck of a former British Airways 747 G-BYGA aircraft.

As reported by , it's the first flight simulator in the UK on a genuine 747 deck.

The flight deck has been restored to its former glory and includes original features such as the seats, the pilots' bunk beds, control columns, and rudder pedals.

All of the cockpit's main controls are linked to the simulator which is connected to a 180-degree wraparound screen.

An instructor introduces visitors to the aircraft's controls during a five-minute tutorial.

There are four simulator experiences to choose from each lasting a different amount of time with a variety of scenarios.

For example, the 20-minute session includes three landing attempts at an airport of choice.

While the longer sessions include more flying skills such as taxi, take off, cruise, and landing.

Since the experience opened to the public earlier this year, visitors have been flocking to the northern airport.

Prices start from £64.95 for a 20-minute simulator experience.

Extra time in the simulator can also be added on at a charge of £35 for 15 minutes.

Visitors must be aged eight and over to fly, while those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The simulator is situated in The Deck 747 Experience hangar where visitors can stay and take additional photos.
