UK theme park goes into administration – here’s what it means for your next trip

A POPULAR UK theme park has gone into administration.

Guests have been told that the park will remain open, but those with future bookings will be contacted.

Camel Creek, in Cornwall, was forced to call in administrators last week.

Kroll, the administrator called in, said they were working to secure the future of the theme park.

Mr Wiles, managing director of restructuring, told local media: “Camel Creek family theme Park will continue to operate as normal, with all future bookings fulfilled.

"With the support of Camel Creek’s lender, we will work to secure further investment and the long-term future of the park for the benefit of all stakeholders.

"Camel Creek is looking forward to welcoming lots of families over the summer holiday season and into the future.”

Tickets can still be purchased on the website for just £18.50.

The theme park first opened in 1989, with 40 rides across the 111 acres.

Back in 2019, the park underwent a £3million revamp with a new mini log flume, a clown roller-coaster and Airbender roller-coaster.

There were also plans to turn the park into a "six star resort"  50 luxury treehouses, 100 villas and a pub.

Despite being announced in 2016, they hoped to open last year although work has yet to be completed.

Previous guests have also raved about the park, especially the staff.

One mum wrote: "This was our first time first time visiting with our 6 year old. It was much quieter than expected, no big queues and she was big enough to go on 90% of rides so was thrilled.

"The best thing about Camel Creek however was the staff - all so friendly & engaging with the kids it was really refreshing."

Another parent agreed: "A special mention to the staff, they are all so friendly and cheerful. It made our visit even better."

A third said: "I can't believe we had never heard of this place in all the years we have been coming to Cornwall.

"I'm glad we went here and not the other large theme park. My daughter appreciated the quieter site and to be honest so did I."
