I’m a flight attendant – here’s how to get out of a window seat without annoying other passengers
A FLIGHT attendant has revealed how passengers annoy other people when standing up on planes - and how they can avoid doing it in the future.
Being squeezed in next to strangers is one of the biggest downsides of air travel, with other people making journeys much less comfortable.
In , she said: "You know when you're on the plane and you're sitting in your seat and you need to get up for whatever reason and you grab the seat in front of you to pull yourself up?
"This is one of the most common fights that people get into it on the plane.

"When you grab the seat, sometimes people will grab the person's hair or they have a drink in their hand, and then you pull them back and they spill it on themselves,
"Or they were in the middle of a deep sleep, and now you've pulled on their seat or whatever."
Instead, Shanna recommends people use their armrests to pull themselves up, saying it's least disruptive way of standing on planes.
She continued: "The best thing to do is always use the armrest, pull yourself up, and then use the back of the seats as a guide.
"It's just a common courtesy. You wouldn't want somebody grabbing the back of your seat."
People commented on the video saying they hated when people did it to them.
One said: "So true I hate this and will give you the stare of death and ask what are you doing!"
Another added: "So Irritating..though I never say anything! usually it's an older person."
"If not I will use my armrests."
Another added: "What are you to do when there are instances where you really can't get up without grabbing the seat in front of you?
"This is particularly true of the elderly, for instance, who might need a little help getting out of a seat."
Reclining seats is another way to annoy passengers while flying, with people often doing it at the wrong time.
Sun Online Travel's resident flight attendant said: "When there's food being handed out, seats have to be upright, but as soon as we take the trays away, people quickly put their seats straight back down.
"As long as you're not encroaching on their space unfairly, you do what you've got to do to make sure you're not squashed for the entirety of your journey.
"Reclining your seat is fair game as far as I'm concerned, even if it is annoying."
