A FORMER flight attendant has revealed the unusual reason she never books an aisle seat on a plane.

Getting comfortable during a flight can be a challenge, with some seats being worse to sit in than others.

In an article for , ex-cabin crew member Beth Windsor has revealed why she never books the aisle seat.

She said: "By skipping the aisle seat, I can protect my elbows from the carts and people going past me throughout the flight."

Instead, the former flight attendant likes to nab the window seat.

Beth added: "Yes, you may need to squeeze past your fellow passengers to get to the bathroom, but that may not be often depending on your bladder.

"Asking to exit the row is worth it to have a place to rest my pillow and an armrest of my own."

In a previous article, Beth recommended booking a window seat in the emergency exit row.

She said: "These seats usually come with an extra fee, so you're less likely to have people sitting next to you here."

These seats also tend to have more legroom, so passengers can easily leave the aircraft in an emergency.

But exit rows can be a little colder because they're next to the door, and passengers in these seats will be expected to perform certain duties in the event of a crash.

Even in light of their faults, seats in the exit row are typically more comfortable.

Earlier this year, one expert revealed how to avoid booking the worst seats on a plane - and it only involves a free app.
