Ryanair launches budget flights to seven new holiday destinations

RYANAIR is adding seven new routes from its three London airports this winter.

The budget airline will also add more flights to 30 other routes that it operates out of Stansted, Luton and Gatwick.

, the seven new routes include Belfast, Basel, Ouarzazate in Morocco, Poprad in Slovakia, Tirana, Treviso and Vigo.

Treviso is a northeastern city in Italy, popular for its historic palaces, pretty canals and proximity to the Veneto Prosecco region.

Meanwhile, Ouarzazate is a town  just south of Morocco's High Atlas mountains, that is popular with Hollywood movie studios as a filming destination thanks to its stunning scenery.

Alternatively, head to Poprad in Slovakia, which sits at the foot of the country's High Tatras Mountains.

While air fares continue to be considerably higher than pre-Covid, thanks Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary predicted the cost of a plane ticket might be coming down soon.

He told the newspaper: "We had a double digit increase in fares in summer 2022, and a single-digit increase this summer. 

"It can't go on like that. People are struggling and that will take its toll. 

"We may have to try and stimulate the market by cutting fares."

While it was good news today for those travelling out of London, O'Leary revealed that he was having to cut Ryanair's winter schedule elsewhere due to delays in the delivery of new Boeing 737 planes.

It will reduce the number of aircraft it planned to base at several airports across Europe, including East Midlands Airport and Dublin Airport.

It will cut three aircraft from those based at Charleroi airport in Belgium, two from Dublin and five from Italian airports, including Bergamo, Naples and Pisa.

There will also be aircraft reductions at East Midlands airport in the UK, Porto in Portugal and Cologne, Germany.
