New indoor Christmas theme park coming to the UK this year – featuring a circus, ice trails, winter rides & skating
THE temperature is dropping and Christmas is just around the corner, which means it's time to start planning wintery activities for the family.
One place you could consider is a new indoor festive theme park that will be up and running between December and January.
The Kingdom of Winter is set to open its doors at the ExCeL London this year for the very first time and promises guests a "one-of-a-kind festive experience".
When it opens, the park will be the capital’s biggest indoor winter experience, with an ice rink, traditional fairground rides, an ‘Ice Expedition’, a circus, alpine stalls and two food and drink villages.
The site is designed with families in mind and as it's indoors, it provides a completely weatherproof space in which people can get into the Christmas spirit.
There will be four circus shows every day, including illusions, acrobats and more, all held inside a big top tent.

What's more the indoor park will even have its own skating rink, with 45 minute sessions held on the hour, every hour.
More ice can then be found on the immersive ice trail, with polar bears and penguins among a number of other interactive elements that will "delight" visitors.
Some more traditional theme park elements can be found among the fairground rides, with a carousel, bumper cars and a waltzer just some of the attractions.
There's also an "extreme" ride called Ice Jet Force for braver park-goers.

Alongside the festive entertainment and activities, visitors can head to two different food and drink villages, with snacks, main courses and festive treats will be served.
There will also be multiple alpine craft stalls and chalet-inspired bars, where people can buy stocking fillers, or sip on a diverse selection of winter warmers, mulled wine and beers.
Kingdom of Winter will be open from December 8, 2023 until January 7, 2024 and tickets are available now via .
Super off peak entry starts from £5.50 per person, while standard price is £9.50.
Not all attractions are included in the price of entry.
The ExCel can be accessed from the Elizabeth Line and the DLR at stop Custom House, as well as several bus routes.
The Kingdom will be competing with popular festive favourite Winter Wonderland, which is set to return once again this year.
The temporary winter funfair will run for six weeks in Hyde Park, with a variety of attractions, activities and food and drinks on offer.
Its website promises a range of features, including "high adrenaline rides" and "family-friendly performances" when it opens from November 17, 2023 until January 1 2024.
