First look at brand new holiday resort set to open in the UK with 130 lodges, swimming pool and quaint farm shop

There will also be a gym and a restaurant as well as brand new nature trails

A NEW luxury holiday resort is set to open in the UK - with some very fancy lodges and caravans.

More than 100 lodges are among the facilities due to be built for the resort, which will be constructed on the site of a disused golf course.

As well as having its own lodges, there will also be space for 26 caravans at the park, which is due to take over the old Goosnargh Golf Club in Preston that hasn't been used since 2019.

Elsewhere, a swimming pool, a spa, a gym and a restaurant are all part of the ambitious plans, according to , as is a small on-site farm shop.

Holidaymakers will also be able to take their job with them to the new retreat, with 14 office pods available for those who need to do a bit of work.

Meanwhile, each of the holiday lodges will have its own decked area and open space outside, while inside they will have either two or three bedrooms.

There will also be a kitchen/living/dining space, a bathroom, a utility room and other spaces.

A planning statement has promised to keep a "naturalistic layout" across the site, wherever it is possible.

A welcome kiosk will have a small reception area for guests to check in and out of the village.

The work will also turn pre-existing ponds on the golf course into natural water features, which some of the lodges will overlook once they are built.

A mid-17th and early 18th century grade II-listed barn and farmhouse on the site, will be screened, so they can be protected while work is going on.

Reports claim that the on-site facilities won't be available to the general public and only to those booked in for a stay in one of the 130 cabins, or in their own caravans.

However, locals will benefit from new footpaths that will provide public woodland trails, while new trees will be planted to replace the ones ripped out for construction.

Councillor Harry Landless of Preston City Council hopes the new resort will bring in more than £2million every year.

After the plans were given the green light, he said the holiday park would "bring tourist prosperity".

Peter Allen, from GHV Limited, who submitted the plans said: “This is great news for our local community and I welcome the committee’s approval of our proposals after such careful consideration,

“Our plans enjoyed broad support amongst the community and we worked hard to accommodate the needs and concerns of nearby residents, which was recognised by the committee."

It's not the only resort set to open in the UK with Great Wolf Resort set to launch its first British park in Basingstoke.

There are more than 19 of the parks across the US and Canada and the new UK resort will have a 500-bedroom hotel on-site, as well as an entertainment centre with bowling alleys, arcades and restaurants.

Elsewhere, Eurocamp has announced that it will be launching 57 new parks in time for the 2024 summer holidays.

There are currently 180 of the parks throughout Europe, mainly in France, although some are also found in Spain, Italy, Germany, Croatia, The Netherlands, Australia, Switzerland and Luxembourg.

The new parks will open across popular regions of France, Spain and Italy.
