English theme park announces huge new ride for spring 2024
A POPULAR English seaside theme park has revealed that it's opening a huge new ride in 2024.
A lot of UK beach towns have a fairground for people to visit on their days out by the sea.
Included in that is Southend, where Adventure Island has grown from a beachside funfair into one of the country's best-loved parks.
It's home to more than 40 different rides and described on TripAdvisor as is the U.K's No.1 free admission fun park.
Guests are able to turn up and pay only for what they want to ride, while day and annual passes are also available.
One thing they'll be able to go on soon is a brand new drop tower that's set to open in 2024.

In a post from the official X account, formerly Twitter, account, they said: "Watch this space for our own new 38 metre tower ride.
"Brand new for 2024! We are welcoming a brand new attraction next year for all our thrill-seeking guests… a HUGE DROP TOWER.
"The tower will be 38 metres, even taller than the City Wheel!"
Before they get the chance to ride on the new attraction, the park's fans have been given an opportunity to be involved in its installation.

Adventure Island has asked people to choose the name of the tower ride before it is launched officially.
There are four names for them to pick from, including The Tower, The Needle, Up360 and Vertigo.
Currently, the clear favourite among those commenting appears to be Vertigo, with plenty of people saying it was their favourite.
One wrote: "Vertigo sounds great."
Another said: "Vertigo is the best branded one there."
A third added: "Vertigo! Short, sweet, straight up to the point and the logo looks nice!"
However, The Needle also had some support, with some saying it was unique and suited Southend.
One person commented: "The Needle! Cool name."
Whatever its name is, the ride looks set to be popular with thrill-seekers, with its 38-metre height making it taller than Thorpe Park's drop tower, Detonator.
It's also higher than Croc Drop at Chessington.
Adventure Island is currently closed for the winter but will be opening its doors again in February, 2024.
However, its Winter Wonderland experience is up and running.
