Huge UK attraction to let kids go free during half term in boost to cash-strapped families
THE Christmas holidays may have just finished, but parents are already starting to think about how to entertain their kids during half term.
One huge UK attraction is hosting a "week long celebration of science" and anyone aged 5-16 gets in for free.
The Eden Project in Cornwall has some big plans for the February half term, with famous names offering some live shows and workshops alongside special attractions.
Popular kids' science show Ministry of Science is set to "take centre stage" with an immersive performance, while YouTube channel Kids Invent Stuff will be there, along with some of their madcap creations.
They will include a slime-launching robot, a seed-shooting carrot car and Maria Croc-bot, a lawn mowing crocodile.
What's more, they will be recruiting a young inventor to have one of their own inventions created, with kids able to submit their ideas at an "Idea Station" to be hosted at Eden.

As well as inventions, visitors will also be able to design science experiments as part of some "hands-on" workshops that will take place during the holiday.
For the adventurous, there's a chance to learn about the benefits of introducing insects into a diet and anyone who wants to can even try a few.
Additionally, the skating rink is still going to be in position, giving anyone who wants to enjoy a final skate before it's packed away the chance to have a go.
Children with autism, sensory or communication needs can make the most of relaxed Ministry of Science workshop sessions, which will be held on Tuesday February 13 and Saturday 17 at 10:30am and 2pm.

said that the resort was going to "ignite young minds this February half term with a week-long celebration of science" offering free entry for children aged 5 to 16".
However, the free entry offer only applies to one child per adult, and pre-booking is strongly encouraged.
Tamsyn Lewis from Eden Project said: “We can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve got in store this February half term at Eden.
"We hope that by extending our usual free entry for under-fives to all children aged 16 or under will allow more families to come and experience a brilliant week of science.”
For the under fives, a special programme of activities has been developed at Eden, to "help them connect with the living collection and the natural world".
Included in that programme is Music in the Med, where kids can make some noise by singing and playing along to some songs in the large Mediterranean Biome dome.
There's also Yoga Buds, which includes baby yoga and massages that "benefit both parent and baby", as well as gentle strolls around Eden’s gardens.
Finally, a weekly Little Eden session will take place, including games, stories, quests, making and creating, and campfire cooking.
These activities will continue past the half term and continue until March this year.
